DUPAGE STUDENT ART CONTEST AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

For hundreds of years, Fairs have been the place for folks to showcase and share their talents. Whether the project was raising livestock, baking an apple pie, creating a quilt or presenting a beautiful piece of artwork, the goal was to learn and challenge others to do better. The reward, a Grand Champion Rosette and possibly a premium paid. The DuPage County Fair Association will be hosting the 2nd Annual DuPage Student Art Contest and Scholarship Program.  The goal is to challenge DuPage County High School Students to showcase and share their artistic talents at the DuPage County Fair. The reward Rosettes, Ribbons, and College Scholarships. The contest is open to all High School Student residents of DuPage County. The student must be currently enrolled in an accredited public or private school or a home school environment. Entries placing in the Top 12 will be sold at auction to the highest bidder. Each artist will receive the full amount of their artwork’s sale proceeds in the form of a 4-year Scholarship (Certain restrictions will apply).

All artwork, with completed entry forms attached, must be dropped off on Friday, June 23rd, between noon and 7:00pm at Building 2 at the Fairgrounds. Judging will take place on Saturday, June 24th. Students, parents, or teachers are not allowed to be present during judging. They are, however, invited to view all the artwork at an exhibit and reception on Sunday June 25th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Immediately following the reception students must remove any artwork that does not qualify for exhibition or sale. There will be a meeting for the Top 12 student artists and their parents following the reception on the 25th. It is important that the finalists and their parents attend this meeting.
